This race is a fundraiser for the Peter Gold Memorial Fund at Camp Becket in the Berkshires (a YMCA camp), in Becket, MA. Every summer the fund sends a deserving child who cannot afford summer camp to Camp Becket. Peter Gold was a camper there, who died at the age of 12 in 1979. The fund was set up in his memory. Oak Crest Day Camp and Pine Grove Day Camp have joined forces to help raise money for the fund. ALL proceeds of the race will be sent to Camp Becket in the Berkshires.
The 4 Mile Race
The course is a flat and fast out and back course with water and time at the 2 mile turnaround.
Cookout and Activities
After the races, all participants and their families are invited to join us for a cookout and an afternoon of family fun with camp activities, inflatables, and games.
